Skin Guardian Wearable for Skin-Picking
This project presents a wearable device paired with a companion app designed to monitor and alert users to potential skin-picking behaviors. Using sensor-based monitoring and real-time feedback, the system detects characteristic patterns of compulsive skin picking and delivers real-time feedback to gently interrupt habitual behaviors. By offering a discreet and supportive intervention, the project empowers individuals to build awareness, foster mindfulness, and develop healthier coping mechanisms.
Phenomenon
Under the pressures of modern life, some individuals develop compulsive skin picking as a coping response. Often overlooked and unrecognized—even by those experiencing it—this condition can be difficult for others to fully understand.
